Modernization and Migration of Cloud environment with Amazon web services: A strategic overview of planning, design, and deployment

This article focuses on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is a part of Impetus research into enabling companies for robust modernization and migration of applications to the cloud ecosystem. It focuses on constructing the virtual data center and the various processes and systems for managing the AWS ecosystem. The article gives glimpses of the planning process of the overall migration for different resources. One of the main facets of this paper is to deliberate upon the re-architecting of an application and the related optimisation.
Overview
In the past, there have been several approaches to create a cloud enablement strategy that have been followed by deploying useful applications for Amazon Web Services. These applications improve the approaches through which the business drivers of a company are taken care of after one has decided to migrate to AWS. Innovation over a period has led to a constant improvement in these approaches. One of the most important approaches that are important in the present times is cloud innovation delivery methodology. This methodology focuses on holistically delivering services and ensures that the entire life cycle model of the migration process is closely monitored. This methodology follows a six-step process that starts with a quick guide to migrate to AWS. This is followed by the rapid discovery of new migratory approaches. The third step revolves around application analysis followed by the design of the migration process. After this, the process of migration is started. Operationalization and testing is done, and the feedback is constantly monitored.
Virtual data lab construction
AWS framework relies on the pillars of cost optimization, efficiency, performance, reliability, and validation. So, while creating a blueprint for a virtual data lab, these aspects need to be considered. A checklist needs to be shaped for creation of a virtual data lab. The first component in the checklist is account and billing management. The second component of the list is ab operating system, application programming interface and data access. Quality aspects and the related infrastructure needs to be given due consideration. To enjoy the continuity of services, disaster recovery and backup need to be a part of the checklist. Constant monitoring and integration of variable components is an integral part of the management process. When all the above requirements are met, we can go ahead with the release and deployment process.
Planning
In the planning stage, prioritization of the applications that need to be migrated is done. After this, a migration schedule is created for maximization of the throughput. A feedback loop needs to be created as a bridge between the development and operations process.
Design
The first requirement of the design process is developing a library that needs to be shared with the customer. As soon as the assessment is complete, various types of applications are sent for the deployment process.
Deployment
After the design requirements are met, the deployment process is started. The supporting environment for migration is thoroughly assessed before the actual deployment is carried out. The review and feedback mechanism is a vital part of the deployment process.
Concluding remarks
Cloud-based environment is a world of new technology and promises, and migration to this domain with AWS can enable you to achieve your business goals.
